10 donne a cui ispirarsi

Mentre ci chiediamo se ha ancora un senso festeggiare l'8 Marzo, mentre i media ci propongono sempre più l'immagine di una donna che spesso non ci appartiene e ci fa sentire svilite, mentre tante, ancora troppe donne purtroppo subiscono soprusi e abusi, oggi vogliamo darvi un'immagine positiva della donna, dieci grandi esempi a cui ispirarci, magnifiche donne che hanno dato un senso profondo alla loro vita, convinte dei valori che portavano avanti contro tutto e contro tutti; con grande tenacia e coraggio ci hanno regalato grandi insegnamenti a cui possiamo attingere ancora oggi.

MADRE TERESA DI CALCUTTA

“Io sono come una piccola matita nelle Sue mani, nient’altro. È Lui che pensa. È Lui che scrive. La matita non ha nulla a che fare con tutto questo. La matita deve solo poter essere usata.”
Queste sono le parole con cui Madre Teresa era solita descriversi: una matita nelle mani di Dio.
Madre Teresa di Calcutta è stata una religiosa albanese di fede cattolica: è lei la fondatrice della congregazione religiosa delle Missionarie della Carità. Lavorò tantissimo fra le vittime della povertà di Calcutta, fatto che l’ha resa una delle persone più celebri al mondo. Donna di grande cuore e carattere, ha dedicato la sua vita ai poveri. Ha ricevuto il Premio Nobel per la Pace nel 1979 e il 19 ottobre 2003 è stata proclamata beata da Papa Giovanni Paolo II.

MARIA MONTESSORI   pedagogista, filosofa, medico, scienziata, educatrice e volontaria italiana, nota per il metodo che prende il suo nome, usato in migliaia di scuole materne, elementari, medie e superiori in tutto il mondo, una vita straordinaria al servizio dei bambini ed un approccio scientifico pedagogico.

Maria Montessori ha avuto un ruolo centrale e rivoluzionario sotto tanti punti di vista, è stata la prima donna a laurearsi in Medicina nel 1896, si è battuta per la rivendicazione dei diritti sociali per la donna e per l'infanzia, per il riconoscimento del diritto all'educazione e all'istruzione dei ritardati psichici. La sua vita è stata all'insegna della lotta contro lo svantaggio socioculturale,e il suo metodo pedagogico si fonda sui diritti dei bambini a essere amati, a esprimersi liberamente  e ad essere rispettati : "aiutami a fare da solo" è uno dei pilastri del suo insegnamento.

ROSA PARKS  era un’attivista per i diritti civili. Balzò all’onore delle cronache quando si rifiutò di cedere il suo posto sull’autobus a un bianco. Questo fatto scatenò il boicottaggio degli autobus di Montgomery, a cui si associò anche Martin Luther King Jr, portando così alla ribalta anche la sua lotta per i diritti civili agli afroamericani. Quando morì, il suo feretro venne trasportato a Washington DC su un autobus simile a quello che aveva iniziato la sua storia.

RITA LEVI MONTALCINI  premio Nobel per la medicina nel 1986. La sua più importante scoperta fu l’NGF (Nerve Growth Factor), il fattore di crescita nervoso .Una delle più grandi scienziate italiane, è stata la prima donna ammessa alla Pontificia Accademia delle Scienze. Il 1º agosto 2001 è stata nominata senatrice a vita per i suoi meriti scientifici e sociali. Socia dell'Accademia dei Lincei per la classe delle scienze fisiche, è stata tra i soci fondatori della Fondazione Idis-Città della Scienza. Rita Levi Montalcini si dichiarava una donna libera. Decise di dedicare la sua vita alla scienza , scegliendo di non sposarsi e di non avere una famiglia. Nel 1992 ha fondato, insieme alla sorella gemella Paola, la Fondazione Levi Montalcini, in ricordo del padre, per sostenere la formazione dei giovani.

IBU ROBIN LIM è chiamata "ostetrica dai piedi scalzi" per il suo impegno in favore di una gravidanza sana, un parto dolce, un'accoglienza felice del neonato e contro la povertà e la malnutrizione. Attingendo alle migliori tradizioni sia occidentali che orientali, Ibu Robin si dedica con affabilità e gentilezza a promuovere la conservazione dei saperi tradizionali, l'utilizzo di piante curative, la mobilitazione delle risorse umane e spirituali delle donne nell'occuparsi di se stesse e del nascituro, affrontando consapevolmente anche i momenti di debolezza e vulnerabilità emotiva. Nel 94 ha fondato l'associazione no profit Yayasan Bumi Sheat, un consultorio dove operano ostetriche, medici, infermieri e volontari internazionali che lottano contro la povertà e la malnutrizione per garantire una gravidanza sana, un parto sereno, un'assistenza affettuosa e competente, un'accoglienza felice del nuovo nato. Nel portare soccorso in territori devastati dai conflitti e da disastri ambientali, l’intervento di Ibu Robin non è solo di ostetricia d’emergenza, ma anche un servizio sanitario gratuito, basato su tre principi forti e semplici: rispetto delle culture, della natura e delle scienze mediche. Ibu Robin è promotrice di un'idea dell'ostetricia come un’arte basata sull’amore e asserisce che rispettando la nascita si diventa portatori di Pace: "guarire la terra, un bambino alla volta".


EVA REICH , figlia dello psicoanalista Wilhelm Reich, allievo di Sigmund Freud, è  un medico statunitense nell'ambito della prevenzione primaria sin dal concepimento, della “Nascita Dolce” e dell’Emotional First Aid, Primo Soccorso Emozionale, per bambini e genitori in crisi bioemozionale.  La Bioenergetica dolce è un metodo terapeutico da lei fondato che non solo permette all'energia bloccata di fluire di nuovo nell'organismo ma, praticata sin dai primi mesi di vita, può anche prevenire la formazione di blocchi permanenti nel corpo.

Già trent'anni prima del boom della moderna ricerca neonatale, Eva Reich aveva sviluppato gli strumenti terapeutici per accompagnare e curare i bambini traumatizzati nel periodo perinatale ed aveva affrontato temi di grande attualità come, ad esempio, i bisogni biologici del contatto bioenergetico, del contatto oculare, l'importanza della non separazione di madre e neonato al momento della nascita, l'importanza della prevenzione prima e dopo la nascita. In più di trent'anni ha insegnato in tutto il mondo la sua filosofia ed il suo metodo.


ORIANA FALLACI  prima che scrittrice giornalista, e giornalista d'assalto, sempre in prima linea. Famosa per i suoi reportage dagli angoli più pericolosi del mondo (soprattutto il Vietnam), e per aver scritto sempre e solo quel che pensava, senza mai temere giudizi, polemiche e censure. Un personaggio per molti aspetti controverso, a cui non sono mai state risparmiate le critiche. Ma una donna senz'altro coraggiosa, capace, veramente libera.

ANNA MAGNANI è' l'attrice simbolo del neorealismo, ma anche una delle attrici italiane più grandi in assoluto. La prima a vincere un Oscar (nel 1955) e una delle poche personalità italiane a vantare una stella sulla Walk of Fame di Hollywood. Una carriera incredibile, e il volto di una donna vera, a tratti sofferente e maltrattata dalla vita, ma sempre capace di rialzarsi in piedi. Sua la famosa battuta rivolta a una truccatrice che voleva camuffarle le rughe: "Perchè le vuoi cancellare? Ci ho messo tanti anni a farmele venire!"

WARIS DIRIE nata nel 1965 in uno sperduto villaggio della Somalia, scappa di casa a 15 anni per sottrarsi ad un matrimonio combinato. Finisce a Londra a fare la cameriera, e per puro caso viene notata da un fotografo. Diventa presto una modella di fama internazionale amata da moltissimi stilisti e conquista le copertine delle riviste di mezzo mondo. Arrivata al culmine della fama Waris Dirie usa la sua notorietà per promuovere una campagna contro le mutilazioni genitali femminili tipiche dei rituali religiosi. E' ambasciatrice umanitaria dell'Onu ed è stata insignita della Legion d'Onore.


ANNA MARIA MOZZONI. Pioniera del femminismo italico, la Mozzoni, che visse tra la metà dell’Ottocento e l’inizio del Novecento, è considerata la prima donna italiana a essersi battuta affinché anche il gentil sesso potesse votare alle elezioni. Nel 1878 rappresentò l’Italia a Parigi nel “Congresso internazionale per i diritti delle donne” e l’anno seguente fondò a Milano la “Lega promotrice degli interessi femminili”

While we ask if  it still makes sense to celebrate the women's day, while media proposes a woman's image that often doesn't belong to us and make us feel debased, while many, too many women are abused, today we want to give you a positive woman's  image, ten great examples we can be inspired by, magnificent women who gave a deep sense to their life, convinced about the values they carried on against everyone and everything; with great tenacity and courage they gave us great teachings we can still use.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta : she used to describe herself like a pencil in God's hands. She's been an albanian religious of the Catholic faith : she's the founder of the religious congregation of the Charity Miossionaries. She worked very much among the Calcutta's poverty victims, fact that made her one of the most famous person in the world. Woman with great heart and temperament, she devoted her life to poors. She received the Nobel for Peace on 1979 and on the 19th of October  2003 was proclaimed blessed by Pope Giovanni Paolo II.

Maria Montessori educator, philosopher , doctor, scientist, and Italian voluntary, known for the method that bring her name, used in thousands of kindergartens, primary, middle and high schools all over the world, and an extraordinary life to the service of children and a scientific pedagogical approach. Maria Montessori has had a central and revolutionary role  under many points of view, she was the first woman to graduate in Medicine on 1896, she fought for social rights' revendication for women and for childhood, for the acknowledgment of the right to education and instruction to the mental retarded. Her life was marked from the fight against the sociocultural disadvantage and her padagogical method is based on the children's rights to be loved, to freely express and to be respected: " help me to do it alone" is one of the pillar of her teaching.

Rosa Park was an activist for civil rights. She jumped to the news when she refused to give her seat on the bus to a white. This set off the bus boycott in Montgomery, joined by  Martin Luther King Jr too, bringing to front of the stage her fight for civil rights to the African American. When she died, her coffin was carried to Washington DC on a bus like the one that started her story.

Rita Levi Montalcini, Nobel prize for Medicine in 1986. Her most important discovery was the NGF (nerve growht factor). One of the greatest Italian scientist, she was the first woman admitted to the Pontificates Academy of Sciences. The first of August 2001 she was nominated Senator for life for her scientific and social merits . Partner of the Academy of Lincei for the class of Physical sciences, she was among the founding members of Idis Foundation - City of Sciences. Rita Levi Montalcini declared herself a free woman. She decided to dedicate her life to science, choosing not to get married and have a family. In 1992 she founded , together with her twin sister Paola, the Levi Montalcini Foundation, in memory of her father, to support the young formation.

Ibu Robin Lim is a midwife always engaged in favor of a healthy pregnancy, a sweet birth , an happy acceptance of the newborn and against the poverty and malnutrition. From the best traditions both western and eastern Ibu Robin addresses herself with affability and kindness to promote the conservation of traditional knowledge, the use of medicinal plants, the mobilization of human and spiritual resources of women in taking care of herself and the newborn, facing knowingly the weakness and emotional vulnerability moments as well . In 1994 she founded the no profit association Yayasan Bumi Sheat, a counseling where operate midwives, doctors, nurses and international volunteers fighting against poverty and malnutrition in order to guarantee a clear and serene birth, a loving and qualified assistance. In bringing aid to territories davastated by conflicts and environnement disasters, Ibu Robin's operation is not only the emergency obstetrics, but a free health service as well, based on 3 strong and simple principles: respect of cultures, nature and of medical sciences. Ibu Robin is promoter of an idea of midwife as an art based on love and declares that respecting the birth  you became Peace carrier: " heal the earth, one child at a time".

Eva Reich daughter of the psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich, student of Sigmund Freud, is an American doctor in the primary prevention from the conception , in the "Sweet Birth" and in the Emotional First Aid for children and parents in bioemotional crisis. The sweet Bioenergetics is a therapeutic method she founded that allowes to the stuck energy to flow again inside the organism and practicing it since the first months of life can prevent the formation of permanent blocks in the body. Thirty years before the boom of the modern neonatal research, Eva Reich developed therapeutical instruments to accompany and heal children traumatized in perinatal period and she faced  great actuality subjects like, for example, the biological needs of bioenergetic contact, of eye contact, the importance of the non separation of the mother and the newborn, the importance of prevention before and after birth.

Oriana Fallaci before being a writer she's an assault journalist, always in first line. She's famous for her reportage from the most dangerous corner of the world and for writing always and only what she thought, without never being afraid of judgments, polemics and censures. A character for many ways controversial , who received many critics. But a brave woman, competent and really free.

Anna Magnani is the actress symbol of neorealism, but one of the greatest Italian actress as well. She was the first to win an Oscar and one of the few Italian personality to claim a star on theWalk of Fame in Hollywood. An incredible career, and the face of a real woman, somemtimes suffering and abused from life, but always able to stand up. Her the famous gag to a make up artist who wanted to disguise her wrinkles: " Why do you want to rub them out? It took me many years to make them come!"

Waris Dirie born in 1965 in a lost village of Somalia, she get away from home when she was 15 to escape to a combined wedding. She ends up in London  to be a waitress and for the case she 's been noticed from a photographer . She soon becomes a model of international fame loved by many stylists and she conquers the magazine cover of half the world. Arrived at the top of her fame she uses her notoriety to promote a campaign against the female genitals mutilation typical in religious rituals. She is ONU' s humanitarian ambassadress and has been awarded with the  Honour Legion .

Anna Maria Mozzoni pioneer of Italic feminism she lived between the half of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, she is considered the first Italian woman to fight because the women could vote during elections. In 1878 she represented Italy in Paris during the International Congress for women rights, and the following year she founded in Milan the League promoter of feminine interests.
